2012 Chevy Silverado at Gary Lang Chevrolet

Chevrolet Silverado Details

The Silverado comes with a range of engines and drivetrains, depending on which truck you get?1500, 2500, or the heavy-duty 3500. The 2012 Silverado 1500 has four options, starting with a standard 4.3-liter V6 that produces 195 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Next is a 4.8-liter V8 with 302 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque, followed by a 5.3-liter V8 cranking out 315 horsepower and 335 pound-feet of torque. The most powerful engine you can get in the Silverado 1500 is the 6.2-liter V8 that has a whopping 403 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque. While a four-speed automatic transmission is the standard gearbox, the 5.3- and 6.2-liter engines come standard with a six-speed automatic.

Additionally, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded this pickup its top rating of "Good" for its performance in front-impact crash testing. The truck also carries safety standards like anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, and OnStar.
